Privacy Policy

From every request:

• Your text input — the question or chemistry reading you type.
• Photos you upload (optional) — only when you explicitly attach a test strip or equipment image.
• Pool config you provide — type, gallons, equipment, ZIP (for local pro recommendations).
• Your IP address (hashed) — solely for anonymous rate limiting (5 queries/day without account).

If you create an account:

• Your email address (for magic-link sign-in).
• Your conversation history (so you can review past advice).

• Browser fingerprints, cookies-for-tracking, or third-party ad SDKs.
• Geolocation beyond ZIP you provide.
• Contact lists, calendar, photos library (browser file picker only opens when you click).
• Payment info (PoolAssist is free).

• Anthropic (Claude API) — we send your text + photos to Claude to generate AI advice. Per Anthropic’s policy, your inputs are not used to train models. See Anthropic’s privacy policy.
• Cloudflare — hosts the site and serverless API (US-based edge servers). Sees your IP and request data to route traffic + DDoS protection.
• Supabase (US region, Phase 0.5+) — when you create an account, stores your email and conversation history.
• Resend — sends magic-link sign-in emails.

We do not share data with anyone outside this list. We do not sell user data. Ever.

• Anonymous queries: stored 30 days for rate limiting + diagnostics, then deleted.
• Logged-in account data: kept until you request deletion. Email [email protected] to delete.
• Photos: deleted from our storage 90 days after last access (or immediately if you request).

You can request: (a) a copy of all data we have on you, (b) full deletion of your account, (c) correction of any wrong data, (d) portability (data export). Email us at [email protected] and we’ll respond within 30 days.
