PoolAssist is a free AI pool chemistry assistant developed by Fullhouse Asset Management LLC, the team behind HiredLocalPros — a vetted directory of CSLB-licensed pool, electrical, and home-service pros across California. Users photo any standard residential test strip (AquaChek, Taylor pad strip, HTH, Clorox, La Motte) and the AI extracts pH, free chlorine, total chlorine, total alkalinity, cyanuric acid, and calcium hardness. It then writes exact dosing scaled to the user's pool gallons, season, and 30-day chemistry history. All dosing math is sourced from the Trouble Free Pool / Taylor / Pentair / Hayward standard formulas. A post-AI math verification layer re-checks every dose against an 18-formula table — flags or corrects anything off by >15% before the user sees it. The AI is built on Anthropic Claude Haiku 4.5, with photo quality pre-checks running client-side to avoid wasted vision tokens on blurry shots. When the AI detects safety concerns (gas leaks, electrical near water, structural cracks), persistent failure (algae returning after 3 SLAM attempts), or chemistry beyond DIY scope (mustard algae, metal staining, extreme imbalance), it escalates and routes the user to a vetted local pro via HiredLocalPros — same standards, real licenses, in their ZIP. PoolAssist is free for the first 5 queries/day without an account, 30/day with a free account. No ads, no third-party trackers, no data sold. Photos are sent to Anthropic for analysis and not persisted by PoolAssist; only the AI's text response is stored in user history. Available as a web app + installable PWA on iOS / Android (App Store / Play Store launches planned).
